EXCLUSIVE

Photography by Joe Galvin

As I've mentioned recently dressing inbetween seasons is hard work especially whilst staying on trend-longline coats are too bulky not to mention a pain to carry around with us when the sun pop out, and leather jackets are just that little too warm as we transition from Summer into Autumn, so what is our go-to!?

The bomber, a happy medium! Pop on a white tee, a pair of cropped denim jeans and slip into a pair of trainers for a cool punk vibe. In the cooler months layer on a chunky knit, a bootcut trouser and a leather ankle boot and you're still chic but cosy come Winter.

I picked up this Calvin Klein Ohio bomber jacket from Very Exclusive-home of some of the most coveted fashion labels, combined with a love of runway trends and a next day delivery option thing could get very dangerous!

DAY 1 OF LONDON FASHION WEEK SS16

Wow what a manic few days! I am well an truly exhausted from London Fashion Week, after just three days! I do usually attend the full five days but with Paris to look forward to at the start of October I thought I sit the rest of the days out.

I sported this Celine-esque striped Topshop dress layering a black polo neck underneath to kick of fashion week. (This dress is actually a body-con style, so I purchased a size 14 which made the dress less clingy!) The weather was dull as expected so I constantly darted in and out of The Apartment between shows to take shelter from the weather, as well as the awful new BFC space. What did you think of the new venue?

What I'm Wearing: Topshop Dress, BHS Polo, Wallis Heels (Similar), Missguided Belt (Similar) and Asos Sunglasses.

SAY HEY TO FAYE

Photography by Joe Galvin

You can probably guess by the name of this post, and my influx of posts on Instagram (@HannahCrosskey) that I did infact invest in a Chloe Faye bag. Isn't she a beaut? I've officially been self employed for a year now so I thought what better way to reward myself than bagging myself the "IT" bag. With three compartments she's pretty roomy, so she'll definitly be a day-to-day essential. (That's how I sold it to my husband, anyway.)

I've been dressing down as of late, getting ready for the stressful week that is fashion week. I've practically lived in this long sleeved knit from Chicwish, it really did exceed my expectations when I popped it on the morning it arrived. The long line hem is super flattering and really easy to chuck on with a pair of jeans and trainers!

What I'm Wearing; Chicwish Jacket, Chicwish Knit, Levi Jeans, Choies Wedges, Asos Sunglasses and Chloe Bag.

MONOCHROME WAYS

Photography by Joe Galvin

I'm not sure how much longer I will be able to get my legs out seen as we completely skipped Summer and dived head first into Autumn, but how could I possibly slip into a pair of black tights whilst sporting these gorgeous buckled ankle boots? White has been a massive trend so far at NYFW so I wanted to inject the trend in today's look! I've paired this pleated off white wool skirt with a slouchy asymmetric hemmed tee. This Faux suede tee will be my next Chicwish purchase, for £19 you can't go wrong!

What I'm Wearing: Chicwish Top, Chicwish Skirt, Finery Jacket, Missguided Sunglasses and Daniel Footwear Boots

PACKING YOUR ESSENTIALS FOR LFW

London Fashion Week is right around the corner and whether you've been going the past 5 seasons or this is your first ever fashion week it is important to be organised so I've put together my essentials that I like to take with me each season. The last thing you want is to miss seeing your favourite designers collection walk the runway simply because you left your tickets in yesterdays clutch bag. Been there, done that.

  • Most importantly are your tickets. You've worked so hard on your blog the past 6 months and your pretty impressed with your growth, your statistics and your latest collaborations that you deserve to be there! I tend to pack much like I did my first day at school-get everything organized the day before. Once your outfit and accessories are decided stick your tickets straight into the pocket of your clutch and keep them safe.
  • A portable charger will be your best friend come fashion week! I like to keep up to date with my social media, whether I'm scheduling blog posts, tweeting what I've seen on the runway's or uploading my outfit to Instagram you do not want your battery to let you down mid post.
  • I like to take my Olympus Pen E-PL7 and 45mm f/1.8 lens everywhere I go and this is also the case with fashion week. If you find it hard to get your photos taken for your blog then utilise the amount of fashion bloggers that will be around at fashion week! Offer to take their photo and ask for them to take yours in return, that way you've got your content and you don't have to bully our boyfriends into it when you get home. (I know the drill.)
  •  I always carry around my IMac/IPad/notebook. There are plenty of refuel rooms around the venue and it is nice to take 5 minutes out of the hustle and bustle to recharge your batteries. I usually use this time to; write up tomorrows post, upload my street style images or just to jot down the new trends you've been seeing.
  •  ALWAYS make sure you've got an umbrella with you. We all know what the English weather is like and you don't want to get caught outside in the rain!

If you are reading this and you don't have any tickets to any shows, who cares! Pop down to the new space and take in the environment and the street style. Fashion Week is an exciting time and you should enjoy it too.

DOUBLE DENIM WITH DOROTHY PERKINS

Oh double denim! I was only amount of time before I featured a double denim ensemble. If you are following my denim series with Dorothy Perkins you will know that I've been challenged to put together 5 looks in a 5 day denim challenge. ( You can see look one here and look two here.)

I find a double denim look tends to work best if you mix up your textures and vary the shade in denim. I love the contrast between this light wash shirt and mid wash relaxed skinnies, combined with a pair of snakeskin wedges I think it puts a spin on the typical double denim look we seem to have a love/hate relationship with!

What I'm Wearing: Dorothy Perkins Shirt, Jeans and Wedges

RE-WEARING YOUR DENIM

Wearing double denim isn't to everyone's taste, so why not put a spin on the iconic look buy swapping a denim shirt or jacket with a cropped suede jacket?  This premium jacket is the perfect transitional piece into Autumn, it is super versatile down to the dark tan colour and because it is cropped it will be your new go to.  (What makes it even better is that it is now in the sale!)

This button down mini has already become one of my wardrobe staples simply down to the simplicity of the design. It's a perfect length to go from day to night, and really vamps up the standard aline skirt we all know and love. You can see another way of styling this skirt here.

What I'm Wearing: Dorothy Perkins Jacket, Cami, Skirt and Heels.
