MODERN SIMPLICITY

If I could describe my sense of style in two words it would be modern simplicity. I like to think of my style as being minimal, sleek, tailored and simple which is exactly how I'd describe this outfit.

“THE EDIT" is a monthly edited hand picked and curated collection put together by John Lewis, featuring incredible own brand offerings along side leading fashion brands. This month THE EDIT is "The Modern Simplicity EDIT" which brings a fresh perspective to the crisp, clean lines of the nineties." So when John Lewis asked myself to pick three pieces from this months edit to style I knew it would be a tough ask-it's all SO me!

My first pick from the edit was this black crepe dress with a stand out asymmetric neckline. The shape is very classic in a shift silhouette making it both simplistic with a modern twist-of course I had to pair this with a staple roll neck to make the detailing stand out against the cream jersey. My footwear of choice HAD to be a blush pair of leather ankle boots. I love the almond toe, and the block heel makes them super easy to walk in-perfect for the weekend. I dressed these down with denim as I loved how the blush looked against the light denim of my frayed hem cropped jeans.

MINT VELVET LFW

London Fashion Week has sadly come to and end but it's safe to say after jetting back from New York and heading straight into London, I'm knackered! I collaborated with Mint Velvet over the weekend to give you two looks minimal Scandinavian looks using suede's and neutral tones from their new collection.

The first outfit I sported on the Saturday for the Julian McDonald show, combined the gorgeous tan suede jacket (this will come in super handy in spring) with a head to black look. I'm partial to an all black on ensemble and wearing the suede over the top really set the outfit off. The detail in the jacket is amazing-the suede is incredibly soft and I love detail in the silver hardware. Flares are always a must over fashion week, they elongate your legs (which I'm always a fan off-the more height the better) and don't forget look super sleek.

My second outfit I wore on the Sunday to take in the street style London has to offer. I love combining tones of the same colour in different textures as I've done with my head to toe grey look. Using different textures and materials when wearing the same colour really brings out the outfit and makes it look alive. I've combined the lightweight suede in the sleeveless waist coat and matching midi skirt, against the marl grey shirt bringing out the tones in the stone coloured mules. Topped off with an obligatory Phillip Lim 3.1 mini.

MOTHERS DAY IDEAS 2016

Mother's day is fast approaching (6th March for you forgetful lot) so I've thought ahead and put together a small gift guide of ideas and gesture's to celebrate that special day with our mother. It obviously goes without saying, that we appreciate our parents every single day of the year and I know we don't need to give to how much we love and care for our mum's but that doesn't mean they don't like to be spoilt every now and then!

If it's a gorgeous bouquet of flowers you're after, Selfridges are delivering on Mothering Sunday so make sure you snap the "Avebury bouquet" up here. Or how about treat yourself both to a weekend away at a relaxing spa hotel, check out the deals here.

As always this guide is interactive so click on any image to be directed to find out more.

IT'S FURRY COLD OUTSIDE

I think we've established how freaking cold it is out here, so I'm not going to tell you that I'm wearing two pairs of trousers, thermals underneath my two layers of knitwear, and toe warms inside my fur loafers.. oh wait. Out here it's all about layering, but I think we established that when I mentioned that it was -18 yesterday whilst we shot this look.

There are many elements to this outfit but this coat with fur cuffs is my talking point. Unfortunately this jacket is out of stock, but Boohoo have come to the rescue with these detachable faux fur cuffs which you are able to attach onto any of your coats meaning you can change up your look as and when you fancy it-score!

The minute I ordered this flared sleeve shirt I knew it was coming with me to fashion week. Layering up in cold conditions but still remaining fashionable is hard work so bare with me! I've managed to keep these cuffs on show and pull the sleeves out from underneath the knitwear to reveal a hefty flared cuff which went down well with the street style photographers.

I told you socks and shoes were my thing.. and I stand by that statement! Who would of thought fishnet socks and fur loafers would look this good?

CITY SEEING IN NEW YORK WEARING 2NDDAY

The Weather in New York is currently below freezing so wrapping up in as many layers as possible goes without saying. This 2NDDAY roxy tie waist coat is a god send out here! It's thick, cosy and not to mention fashionable and it's tie waist and over sized design has my name written all over it. When the weather outside is -17 with wind speeds of -28 bundlying up in thick accessories and leaving just your eyes on show becomes the norm, or has been for the majority of our stay! Spending a minimum of 5 minutes/1 block outside is the maximum we're able to endure without feeling like we've had a whole syringe of botox.

It's Valentine's day today and I've woken up to Atosa bringing me an avocado seasame bagel and a grande chai latte in bed, who said romance is dead?

DIY'ING IN NEW YORK FOR FASHION WEEK

If I could only begin to explain to you how cold it is in New York right now, I'd say imagine having constant brain freeze whilst dashing from show to show-It's murder, but it's totally worth it! In between meetings and showrooms we're wrapping up in layers of scarves, doubling up on knitwear and investing in copious amounts of thermals. Jesus it's cold.

This look is super relaxed and SO me! These fur loafers are a god send, keeping my toes extra cosy, not to mention the glitter ankle socks. Socks and shoes are usually a big no in my books but I can't help but love the combination.. What do you think?

If you're looking for a pair of cropped jeans similar to the ones I'm wearing for the first day of Fashion Week, fret not, I've listed an almost identical pair below without the DIY job. (I hacked an old pair of cropped flares mid flight to reveal an exaggerated frayed hem!) Trust me, denim is big this season.

FLARED CUFF SHIRT

When putting this outfit together I instantly thought "Fashion Week". I love this time of year, I love playing with new trends, witnessing the new trends and not forgetting buying into the new trends. This is an outfit looking back that I probably should of saved but, as Atosa and I are heading to New York tomorrow for Fashion Week I think I'll survive.. and possibly re-wear!

I popped into the H&M show room last week and picked up this incredible circular bag. The shape reminds me of the Icon Chanel bag that debuted in 2012, this one being slightly smaller in size makes it that little more wearable. A statement I'll be taking with me to the shows for sure. This flared cuff shirt is sadly out of stock in both colours which I can't say I'm surprised about considering it's only £25. (You can pre-order your size here)
