BLACK EYELET DRESS

Ah, my go-to.

"It's sunny outside, I think I'll wear all black." Is me all over. Shoving on a black something when you're in an undecided, uninspired, or just running incredibly late.. is something I tend to do a lot-hands up who's guilty? We all have a couple of go-to items we reach for when we're in one of those moods and a black shift dress like this eyelet baby from Gestuz is one of mine.

I was incredibly tempted to step out of the house this morning in all black.. (these asymmetric sandals were my first choice) but I thought pairing tan accessories like my Zara fringed sandals which are sadly sold out (fear not I've found a similar pair here) and Atosa's mini Chloe Georgia would look just as good especially as they both feature gold hardware which compliment the eyelet, lace up detailing of the dress.

This dress is pretty acurate size wise, I'm wearing a size 8 and it fits perfectly. As it is a shift dress it isn't fitted but if that is a look you're after I'd suggest downsizing. Let's not forget I'm only 5"3 so if you're thinking this dress is too long for you, anyone with a little more height than me will see this dress resting above the knee!

How are you dressing in this gorgeous weather?

VICTORIAN LACE

I'd like to consider my style some what edgy - so lace is not a word that enters my vocabulary often, or my wardrobe, ever, for that matter. So when I took a little look over the new Gestuz lookbook a few months back and couldn't help but gravitate towards this woven lace insert blouse! Once ordered I was seriously looking forward to styling up a somewhat beautiful but challenging item.

Initially black is always a hands down, go-to for me. Black goes without saying, It's like I'm programmed to reach for it when I'm feeling uneasy. So I could of easily slipped on black straight leg jean and a pair of lace up glads and called it a day but that would be pretty boring right? (Not to mention typical of me.) Instead I opted for my DIY Weekday kick flare jeans which are sadly sold out in the blue wash, but fear not the black is still available here.

I think adding layers of jewellery and giving a traditonal look a hint of personality is the key to nailing a classic item of clothing like a lace blouse. You all know by now Missoma are my aboslute go-to for jewellery! This dagger necklace, vermeil horn hoops and double chain dagger bracelet are a couple of newbies to add to my ever growing collection of golds. What do you think?

Of course by now I don't think there's any need to re-introduce these knotted lace up sandals but if you are fairly new to A Fashion Fix I'd suggest heading to Mango immediatly for an instant Chloe fix!

THE NEW WAY TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT

Putting a new spin on a classic piece of clothing is something I love to do, and my bank balance can't complain either-it's a win win! Rather than looking to the high street or the beloved internet for a new addition to my wardrobe I thought I'd take one of my favourite pieces of the moment this blue pinstripe D ring shirt and style it in an up to date and on trend way. I know this isn't for everyone, but as payday isn't for another two weeks yet and buying new clothes is simply out of your reach then grab your favourite shirt, put it on backwards and you've got yourself a whole new spin on an old outfit.

You've seen these nude lace up sandals splashed all over my Instagram account recently, and since I last posted about them here they've only gone into the sale! (Purchase the nude here and the black here.) They're a dead ringer for the new season Chloe knotted leather sandals too-bonus!

GETTING READY FOR SUMMER

We are well on our way to Summer now; bare legs, sun kissed skin and lighter layers. Swaping those closed toe shoes for lace up sandals, heavy denim for vintage cut offs and weighted jackets for well, no jacket at all.

Off the back of experiencing the BAFTA's last week with St Tropez an amazing experience I'll never forget (or stop talking about), it got me thinking about Summer, tanning in particular. I am by no means a tanning expert but I did however get the pleasure of meeting one on the night!

As I've still got the lightest of base tan's from my holiday to Dubai in March, Jules Von Hep - St. Tropez's celebrity tanner and I decided to give the Gradual Tinted Body Lotion a go to give my body an instant hint of bronze and moisture to illuminate the skin for the evening. I was slightly apprehensive as I have had my fair share of tan mishapes with instant tan in my teenage days, but Jules reassured me this would be an easy, non transferable streak free process which dried instantly and this is exactly what it was. (I'd recommend applying this daily to build up a deeper colour!) Although I have described this product as an instant tan it is actually both instant and gradual, as the colour is buildable the more often it is applied it does also give an instant colour apon application. This product is a face and body tan however if like me you lose your facial tan as soon as you land back at Gatwick, I'd reccomend the Luxe Facial Oil which is quick drying, non greasy and non pore blocking-bonus!

If an instant tan isn't your thing then feast your eyes on the latest patent pending product to hit St. Tropez- The St.Tropez In Shower Tan. I know what you're thinking, how would this work? It is as easy as cleansing in the shower, applying the product to wet skin and washing off after 3 minutes! The self tan actives start to develop gradually and deepen with regular reapplication within the shower! I was so impressed with the glow the in-shower tan has given me I slipped it straight into my shower routine, using it three times a week. Keep scrolling to see my results!

What better way to show off my new golden glow than with abit of colour with my new navy star printed Tularosa blouse and tie up RAYE gladiator sandals from REVOLVE.

COLLARLESS SUEDE JACKET

Paying out that little bit extra to invest in the real deal is something I like to do from time to time, but don't get me wrong, I have faux suede options a plenty-which are perfect for chucking on and wearing day to day. (See how I've styled the £40 high street faux suede option here.) Gone are the days of wrapping up in oversized coats and winter jackets, instead I've been living in leather jackets as of late (this one in particular) so having a break from my leathers is always needed.

Similar to styling faux suede I'd advise keeping it simple and going down the denim route-it's a classic. I've been living in these mid blue mom jeans since I purchased them a few weeks back, the fit is just incredible. I know I know, the mom jean isn't some new find I've just come across I know the fit has been around for years now but this fit in particular are a key player in my denim wardrobe.

The plain white tee is of course a classic basic we all own, so if it were the real suede option you were looking to splurge on you know that you can rely on your basic's to style with.. until your next payday at least!

try here, here and here are a couple of low budget options
