HERO PEICES

Gone are the days when Abercrombie & Fitch were known for their activewear. Sweatpants, sweatshirts and polo's are no longer the first thing that springs to mind when I picture the brand. Instead I've been overcome by the sheer fashion element that's been injected into their new season pieces. From 70's inspired embroidery and peasant silhouettes to 90's layered slip dresses Abercromie are well on their way to filling up my wardrobe with hero pieces.

This navy embroidered off the shoulder top is exactly the type of bohemian silhouette I love to rock during Summer. It's light (score) It's elasticated (no digging in) and the floaty silhouette means it's the perfect piece to wear during Dinner. (I know you know what I'm talking about.) It also comes in white, too.

I like to look at cropped jeans as my first love-you'll rarely see me in a pair of skinnies now a days. So, when these high waisted cropped jeans came to my attention on the "New In" page, I was instantly sold. The medium wash means they're super versatile for any colour palette and the slight frayed edge and faded hem make them super on trend-winner!

Yes, I hear you say. "The bomber has been around for ages!" I agree, but instead of being a 90's trend piece it is now considered, for me at least, a staple piece in my wardrobe. I now look at my bomber like my leather jacket; timeless, chic and totally interchangeable. I've teamed up with Wallis to bring to you "two ways to wear" showing you how versatile a bomber jacket can really be.

First up the black satin bomber jacket. First of all it is super light, making it the perfect addition to your Summer wardrobe! I struggle in Summer as I simply can't go out with some type of jacket/layering option-I hate being cold and we all know what our seasons are like in England. On the plus side, if the weather is overachieving like it has done lately theres no need to worry about a leather jacket for example weighing your bag down.

Bottom line, it's versatile. (As is any kind of black item, but you already knew that!) Being versatile means we are able to wear it for any occasion, day or night, wedding or holiday. I especially love changing up my looks between day and night, and this bomber looks super chic paired with jeans, a breton and a pair of converse in the day, and equally as desirable layered over a maxi and heels.

If you're worried about breaking into the trend try styling your bomber in a similar way to what I've done; a long sleeved tee, a classic pair of jeans and a statement accessory.

I have to admit, I "ummed" and "ahhed" over this floral bomber for quiet some time. If you know my style well you know that prints don't quiet cut it in my super basic, sleek and monochrome wardrobe. But you know what, style is all about experimenting and I'm actually so glad I chose it as I'm really loving the print.

Considering loud prints and bold patterns are really not my forty I thought I'd keep this look super basic, I'm sure there's a couple of you out there like me that freak out when faced with a floral/ somewhat colourful item of clothing. And for me it works out in my favour to keep the rest of the outfit low key. I paired the floral bomber with a beige oversized jumper which compliments the florals perfectly. Dressed down with a basic step hem skinnies and my all time favourite Gucci pairing.

Although I did feel out of my comfort zone at first, I'm actually really looking forward to styling this jacket up again!

Shop My Looks

Last month I dabbled a little in white denim, something I hardly ever do! Give me a pair of black skinnies, mid wash mom jean or an indigo pair of Levi's and I'm in my element. But, there's just something about white denim I find hard to get my head around. Maybe it's down to the numerous pair of high waisted white skinnies sported by teenagers, paired with the teeniest crop out and a lot of belly, that puts me off? Who knows.. (it's definitely the latter)

With that said and my hatred for white denim exposed, I couldn't help but shock myself as I gravitated towards this white denim skirt whilst browsing in Topshop last week. Of course for me the only way to rock white is an all over head to toe white look (not exactly practical for a food lover like me) or again the latter, pairing with black. The fit is pretty spot on, the size 8 when worn high waisted has a little room to tuck a jersey tee into the front which is perfect at making my legs look that little bit longer. (Every inch counts!)

Now this skirt has been successfully photographed it is now being stashed away safely into my suitcase to take with me on holiday next week!
