LAPEL LOVE

There's no denying the love I have for a good piece of outwear but more so when that very piece is more than half price in the sale. This stone patch pocket pea coat is an absolute steal for £20! Featuring button front fastenings with a large collared front, the lapel is my favourite part-the bigger the better! The fit is true to size which is a bonus when ordering online, especially if your worried which size to opt for. I actually up sized and I always tend to do when purchasing coats and grabbed this in a size 10.

On to my footwear-the mid glove shoe. What do you think of this style? I spotted the white Celine pair on Danielle of WeWoreWhat and instantly fell in love. The high street has finally followed suit so of course I had to buy into the new trend. This imitation leather pair cost me £19.99! ASOS also have an amazing suede pair here. Appologese if you're not a fan, it's likely you're going to have to force these from my feet..

NAILING CASUAL

Nailing the casual off duty look can be tough, especially has it has to appear that our overall look required minimal effort. I'm guilty of this-I can spend just as long, if not longer getting ready to appear "effortless" than I do getting ready for a big event. I think the key to this is sticking to what you know. A good pair of jeans and your favourite piece of knitwear is a good place to start. I find the best way to go with nailing a casual look is to stick to the colour black and combine with your denim. My footwear of choice day to day is a pair of old skull vans or classic white converse, equally a pair of black pointed ankle boots will look amazing to tie your whole look together.

GREY CHUNKY ROLL NECK JUMPER

Oh look, another knit I've added to my ever growing stash of neutral knitwear. Knitwear is essential, especially during our Winter so thats my excuse.. not that I ever need one when it comes to purchasing clothes. I posted this chunky roll neck jumper on my Instagram last week and you all loved it so I thought I'd show you how it fits and what I'm wearing it with to give you an ideal of how you'll wear your new purchase ;).

The description of the jumper states that it is a "slouchy fit'" which couldn't be any more acrurate-that sums up exactly how I like my knitwear but encase you were wondering I opted for a 10 making the neck and the sleeves even more exaggerated. (I'm a 6-8 if you're wondering.)

Recently I've ditched any kind of footwear that isn't a pair of trainers.. or Vans to be exact. I've absolutely lived in this leather pair and this black pair for the past month. I just love how an outfit looks paired with a trainer. Topped off with a pair of distressed boyfriend denim and a bandana in my back pocket gives off a boyish edge which I love at the moment.

BLACK VELVET MILITARY BLAZER

Scrolling through the Misguided website last week I stumbled across the most beautiful black velvet blazer with gold military button detailing-at a price so good I almost fell off my chair. £45. £45!? Yes you did read that correctly. (Quiet the saving in comparison to a Balmain double breasted blazer!) The fit is tailored, classic, cropped slightly in the length and fitted to the body once buttoned. If its a slightly oversized fit you are after then I recommend up sizing! (I'm wearing an 8 if your wondering.)

I've worn this pussybow shirt in a couple of images over on Instagram and you all went crazy for it! So, naturally I had to feature it on A Fashion Fix somewhere. In the images online the bow is tied loosely around the neck which I've worn previously, but in this look I wanted a high neck so I've wrapped the ties around several times to give off a different vibe.

I was super tempted to ditch the shirt entirely, button up the jacket and pair the look with rolled up boyfriend denim and a gold stiletto heel, but as we're expecting snow I think I'll save that look for warmer climates.

MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR ESSENTIALS

As I've already covered previously in this post, a wardrobe full of basics is the key to a multifunctional wardrobe. Last week I covered the basis of basics, and today I wanted to cover essentials. Fashion essentials with New Look to be exact-these are slightly more fashion forward than our basics!

The Bomber.

The Bomber Jacket has been an essential in my wardrobe since I got my mitts on a black bomber jacket last year, it's the perfect day-to-day cover up as its super casual. Think of it as the perfect solution for those days where a coat just isn't a necessary piece of your outfit. I've teamed this long line khaki bomber with a black ribbed polo neck, a pair of blue girlfriend jeans which I've given a large turn up at the bottom showing little ankle to show off the white slip on trainer. (Equally to take this look from day to night I'd suggest swapping the girlfriend jeans for a pair of black skinnies and the slip on's for a pair of black heeled sandals!)

The Poloneck.

I really do believe that the polo neck goes without saying, especially during Winter. The roll neck is ideal for layering with the most basic of outfits making our last seasons purchases still wearable now. It's those interchangeable pieces that make the best essentials. I've worn this ribbed black polo neck underneath the checked sleeveless coat making the pattern stand out against the block of colour and also keeping me warm in the process-score! A pair of cropped straight leg trousers and pointed suede chelsea boots keep the look.

The Slip On.

I've got a thing for a pair of trainers at the moment, so any excuse for a new pair is fine by me! I have absolutely hailed the slip on ever since I set my eyes on a pair of plaid feline's. Alas, they'll be mine one day! The slip on is the alternative to a trainer or a flat pump, they're super comfy and there's no need to worry about tripping over your laces! To nail this look I'd go down the same route as myself and keep it pretty casual, especially if your new to the look. A statement logo sweatshirt and a pair of blue wash skinny jeans will do the trick.

The Breton Stripe Tee.

Much like the basic white t-shirt, the breton is every bit as crucial in your essentials wardrobe. The breton stripe instantly adds a small amount of dimension to an outfit especially if we're talking the bare basics of jeans and a tee. I've spiced things but with my horizontal stripes and worn the tee over the top of the black ribbed polo neck layering a button front chord pinafore dress over the top.
