REMIXING FASHION

It's not all about what you wear, it's about how you wear it. Whether you are draped in designer, head to toe in Primark, or a mix of the both, it's the way that you remix your pieces that makes your outfit really stand out. For me, mixing high end and high street is the norm as my whole wardrobe is made up of 90% affordable, 10% investment.

I've paired up with Zalando as part of their "Remixing Fashion campaign" and explained exactly how I like to remix my price points.

I've worn my high street buys; this ecru Bik Bok chunky knit (how incredible is the woven detailing?) and layered that underneath a basic ribbed Noisy May poloneck.  I've mixed those with my high end buys; my wide leg Marc o'Polo trousers and Won Hundred randy slip ons adding a subtle hint of detail in the side stripes.

I believe in investing in accessories, whether it be jewellery, footwear or handbags these are the items we are able to wear during all four seasons of the year. (Taking in cost per wear and all!) My high end accessories are these incredible Sabrina Dehoff gold fan shaped ring which I've finished off with a touch of high street with the Le Specs air heart sunglasses and Moss Copenhagen leather clutch.

What do you think of this look, is this a combination you're familiar with?

SECOND HAND FASHION AT LFW

Fashion Week is the time that we look forward to seeing our favourite designers waltz their designs down the catwalk and take in the street style photographers snapping away at the best dressed. It's at this time I like to get dressed in my favourite get up and experience exactly that. It's no secret that I like to splurge on a designer must-have from time to time and where best to show it off? Fashion Week! Whether we visit these designers in our nearest store or head online and opt for second hand and save on those pennies, each purchase excites me.

This season I logged onto Rebelle and scoured the site for a new designer accessory to accompany me to Fashion Week. Rebelle for you that are unfamiliar with the site, is described as the online market place for high quality designer fashion in the second hand sector. (Not just a website to hunt for those classic's but also a place to recycle your old treasures!) Each item is fully checked for authenticity and checked on quality. Hands up who's scored a designer bargain on Ebay only to realise it's come from China..

My first Chloe purchase was back in 2015. My Faye in tan python was my first ever second hand purchase and I haven't looked back since. We went everywhere together! Her quality was second to none and I didn't dare question the authenticity. With this in mind, I just had to go back for more. Chloe Drew was born, and isn't she beautiful? A navy combination of leather and suede, delicate gold studs and the shoulder length gold knotted chain-She completed my outfit.

I've been a fan of Celine since I can remember. My black leather Celine trio was purchased as a well done gift to myself a couple of years ago for landing a big job. EST 2014 she's travelled the world and back again. Since then I've acquired two further pairs of sunglasses which I wear daily-rain or shine! I've been eyeing up a Celine Trapeze for some time-Why? The size is generous, the leather is buttery and soft, not to mention the tri-colour with the added addition of pony fur. I purchased a red blazer for Valentine's day this year that went unworn, so of course these two were a match made in heaven!

WEARING TU AT LFW

It's February, and that only means only one thing-it's Fashion Week! It's time to take in the street-style, hit the shows and mingle at events. But first up you've got to plan your outfits. I turn to magazines, social media and the internet for all kinds of inspiration when putting my outfits together. One retailer that is always on my radar is Tu. The clothing is all kinds of unexpected and it's amazing to get a reaction of "Oh my god, now way I thought it was designer?" to those stand out pieces you just wouldn't expect to be found in a supermarket.

Outfit One
You've got to jump straight into Fashion Week with a pop of colour, and this red Tu mac is all kinds of statement. You'll see ALOT of tailoring in these three looks I've put together, but my favourite piece has to be these grey premium tailored trousers. I've rolled them up at the ankle making them the perfect pairing for a fresh pair of white trainers-These are a necessity during Fashion Week I've come to learn!

Outfit Two

What I love about attending Fashion Week in Februrary is that I get to play with my layers. Whether it's popping a roll neck underneath a jumper, your favourite denim worn underneath a dress.. or a chambray frill shirt dressed underneath a wide leg jumpsuit. It's all about experimenting, but at the same time dressing for the season. I LOVED how this look turned out. The belted jumpsuit really pulls the waist in and draws all the attention to those epic frilled sleeves.

Outfit Three
It wouldn't be Fashion Week without some kind of print clash. So of course I had to take advantage of the pinstriped items I saw on site! This premium stripe blazer is exactly what my wardrobe is calling out for. (Both for Fashion Week and in my day to day wearings! Imagine how it could look with a pair of straight leg jeans!?) I chose a pair of wide leg pinstripe trousers which I think looks amazing when worn together. The use of navy and mix of textures look beautiful together.

What do you think of my looks?

EARN YOUR STRIPES

Anything that appears to be a leg lengthener is a must in my wardrobe. Whether it's a slim line side stripe or a pattern of verticals it's a winner with me. So obviously this pair of striped trousers were a dead cert of a new addition. They're very much like a jogger so they're perfectly suited to my trusted leather superga, but also tapered enough to pair with a small kitten, heel.

I own wardrobes of black. So I'm no stranger to a monochrome outfit or two, but when it's being broken up with a dash of colour or a hint of texture it really does take the outfit to another level.

As far as faux leather goes, this jacket it pretty up there! It's oversizes, good quality faux without being too thin. Pop your favourite knit underneath and you've got yourself a Winter proof winner.

THE LOBE

Rather than investing in new threads this season, I'm putting the new garments to one side in favour of accessorises. Making a statement doesn't have to be all about clashing your prints, doubling up your denim or sticking your neck on the line in favour for fashion. The lobe is where it's at. I'm adding to my minimal uniform of vintage wash jeans and a white tee, by sticking on a pair of statement earrings (mainly of the large gold variety.)

As said by Vogue " Statement earrings are the ticket to elevate it all.. That's the kind of power transmitted by earrings now. Just remember, the bigger the better.."

So, the bigger the better it is. I've got my eyes on the cresent hoop earrings by Ottoman Hands at ASOS. They're chunky, statement and will perfectly dress up any outfit. A laid back tailored suit.. bed hair.. a red lip and a monster pair of hoops!

Gold face earring | Sarah & Sebastaion
Multi ring earring | Zara
Large gold hoops | Asos
Ear cuff | Charlotte Chesnais
Tear drop earrings | Mango
Double hoops | H&M

GAME OVER

GAME OVER. Thank god for that. I didn't think January would ever end! Bring on wine o'clock, knowing what pay day feels like and the end to the "Happy New Year" emails.

My attire since Christmas has very much remained the same. A consistant choice of basic tee's and straight leg jeans. Recently I've thrown a logo tee into the mix and I love the outcome mixed with a pair of classic white superga's or, as fashion week is edging closer, a pair of Balenciaga style metalic mirrored boots.

These silver high heeled ankle boots are incredible value for money, especially if you're looking for a not designer designer pair of boots. By buying into the Kurt Geiger pair over the Balenciaga pair you're saving £550!
